Both this song and "Fireflies" were written about the same girl a long, long time ago. They're dated odes to the helplessness of young love, but they remain special to me and I thought they'd work well in a simple context. I'd attempted this one on a previous album and kept it pretty much the same, just altering a line or two and adding the harmony vocal.
