Epiphany or Apostrophe?

from Backwords by Dale Wicks

/

about

The goofy title comes from the movie "Hook." "Apostrophe" can also mean "an exclamatory passage in a poem addressed to a person who is absent." It's not a very good title, but there you go.

The weird guitar bit is an EBow with a slide, played through an adjustable tremolo and a very slow wah pedal.

lyrics

I will wait here
I will bleed for many days
If I die here
I will die in disarray

How long is forever?
How good is the best you'll ever have?
How long is forever?
Just as long and good as the memory of it lasts

I will taste this now
in the flavor of a kiss
I release this lock
& unclench an open fist

How long is forever?
How good is the best you'll ever have?
How long is forever?
Just as long and good as the memory of it lasts

How near was eternal?
So close that you felt it as it passed?
How long is forever?
Just as long & good as the memory of it lasts
