Without specifics, it's about desiring someone you know you can have but not keep and going along with it anyway, even though you know heartbreak is all that awaits you.

I've tried this song before, but I never got it right until now. I was going to cut it again if Russell wasn't able to play on it, because that was the kind of arrangement it needed. I was leaning toward a string ensemble sound, but he kept it sparse, thus sticking to this album's ethos better than I could've!

I didn't sing the harmony vocal; I used Melodyne to create it and give it that otherworldly effect. I'll sometimes do that to help me arrange harmonies, but I liked it so much that I just kept it like that.
